Ullswater

This is a painting of Ullswater in the Lake District, quite close to where I live.
A journey around the Lake District throws up many, many views such as this, and it would be quite possible to paint each one in winter, spring, summer or autumn, in the morning, afternoon or evening, in the snow or wind, or in brilliant sunshine. In fact, an artist could take one such view and only ever paint that!

I have chosen this winter scene, although the pinks and mauves add warmth.
